John Boswell

John completed his PhD in 2013 at the Australian National University supervised by Carolyn Hendriks and John Dryzek. His dissertation ‘Between Facts and Fictions: Narratives in Democratic Deliberation on Obesity’ served as basis for the book The Real War on Obesity Contesting Knowledge and Meaning in a Public Health Crisis published by Palgrave in 2016.

John is currently an Associate Professor of Politics at the University of Southampton.  He continues to work on issues related to deliberative governance, most notably in collaboration with the Centre's Selen Ercan and Carolyn Hendriks. Their co-authored book, Connected Democracy, is due out in 2020.
