John Parkinson

John completed his dissertation in 2003 at the Australian National University. His thesis ‘The legitimation of deliberative democracy’ served as basis for the book Deliberating in the Real World: Problems of Legitimacy in Deliberative Democracy published by Oxford University Press in 2006.

John is a Professor of Social and Political Philosophy at Maastricht University and holds the post of Adjunct Professor at the Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance.
